Look for jumping, climbing, chewing, and digging, shiny coat, active, nothing in the eyes.To go with the gerbil or jird get cage, food, water bottle,beding avoid Pine or ceder when you get home put the cage away from direct sun
gerbils are friendly but when they see a gerbil they may fight if they do take away one fast.fighting looks like them jumping or back flips, ball of gerbils if you want them to meet and be safe from fights in the bath is good but they still may fight but easyier to get and more room to them to run
